One Cosmic Night.
A ray of sunshine poured into the room
A shaft of gold to penetrate the gloom
And in that beam
I saw some tiny specks of dust…..
A gleam
Twinkling and turning, shining bright
Half in shadow, half in light
They twisted and twirled
I thought…….
Suppose each one's a world
Spinning around in celestial light
Half in day and half in night
Could it be that this earth
So vast and so old
With it's light and it's dark
It's heat and it's cold
And it's millions of souls
With their plans and their schemes
Their hopes and their fears
Their thoughts and their dreams
Was just one speck of dust
That spins in the light
Of a sunbeam that shines
In the dark……..
Of one cosmic night
